End zone view of Jennifer’s “White Shoes” statue currently under construction.

The Boro of Marcus Hook dedicated the Mickey Vernon Statue shown above on September 20, 2003. James Vankoski, president of the Sports Legends of Delaware County Museum, is shown in the top photo presenting sculptor Jennifer Frudakis Petry her initial payment for the completion of a model of Billy “White Shoes” Johnson doing his signature “Funky Chicken” Touchdown Dance. The NFL All-Time Top 100 player is being honored with the creation of an over-life-size 7 ft. bronze statue made in his honor. The photo was taken at Laran Bronze Foundry in Chester, Pa where when completed in the fall of 2022 the sculpture will be taken to its permanent home in Billy’s hometown of Marcus Hook, Pa. Billy’s fans who would like to make a donation should log onto www.delcosportsmuseum.org to access further information or contact Jim Vankoski 610-909-4919. vankoski21@comcast.net
