With the Granite Run Mall scheduled for demolition this coming summer, The Mickey Vernon Sports Museum will have to find a new home. Its departure from the mall will have to occur even earlier– most likely in March of 2015 when its lease at the mall expires. As a result, the time has come to start looking for an idea to keep the Mickey Vernon Museum in the public eye until a new site can be found. What do you think of finding a site at which a Delaware County Sports Rarity of the Month from the museum collection can be showcased? We would need a very nice high-traffic area that is safe and secure where we could display a different piece of Delaware County sports memorabilia each month-one that is appropriate for the sports season. I’d appreciate it if you’d give it some thought and let me know if you have any suggestions. March will be here before you know it.
